Zara Ahsan

Zara Ahsan is a 17 year old climate justice organizer based in Oakland, CA. As one of the leaders of Youth Vs. Apocalypse (YVA) CalSTRS Divest campaign, she works across communities and generations to advocate for CalSTRS, the pension system for all California public teachers, to pull the billions of dollars they currently invest is fossil fuel companies. She is very involved in legislative work, specifically working on SB252, a CA Senate Bill which is designed to ensure divestment.
